PUBLIC SENATE HEARING ON PLASTIC BAGS

On 2 Feb. 2015, PAGASA was invited and attended the Public Hearing on Regulation/Ban of Plastic Bags headed by Senate Committee on Natural Resources
& Environment Chairperson Sen. Loren Legarda. Sen. Koko Pimentel passed by for a while. The hearing was rather lop-sided favoring the green advocates and in favor of a plastic bag total ban. Attached please find PAGASA’s Position Paper which was not given the chance for a proper presentation by PAGASA Pres. Steven Cua. He was supported by Dir. Mykel Teodoro.

PAGASA PRES. MEETS WITH PCBSA PRES.

On the afternoon of 3 November 2015, the Pres. of the Phil. Confectionery, Biscuits and Snack Foods Assn. (PCBSA)> Mr. William Lim paid PAGASA’s Mr. Cua a visit at PAGASA office to discuss how the two organizations can make the most of its members’ affiliation with their respective associations. In a generous move on the part of Mr. Lim who is established in his business>W.L. Food Products, he took time out of his busy schedule to brainstorm with Mr. Cua on ways the members of their two groups can maximize their participation/ involvement in the two Industry Assns. A project is a-brewing in the months to come.

PAGASA GENERAL MEETING FOR FIRST QUARTER OF 2021

On the eve of 3 February 2021, the Association held its virtual General Meeting for the first quarter of 2021. The Meet was sponsored by i-Ripple, enabler of My Suki which intends to have as its groceries providers the members of PAGASA. Online selling was a must-do proposition for supermarkets given the extended negative sales effect that the pandemic was wreaking on food retailers.
