On 28 February 2020, the Chairman for PRA’s National Retail Conference and Exhibition (NRCE) 2020> Rustan’s Bienvenido “Donnie” Tantoco III called for a Meeting at his Makati Office to set the tone for this year’s NRCE. This initial meeting on themes and names for the Conference were deliberated on by the Core Organizers which included PAGASA’s STC.  Speakers were selected to match the relevant topics intended for the Summit come August.

On 6 June 2019, PAGASA’s STC invited Dra. Elinor T. Roquel of G. T. Nutripharma,  Inc. for coffee (with her husband) and briefed her regarding what to talk about regarding Product Safety at NRCE’s Supermarket Track come August.  With him is PRA’s Archelle Aira Villanueva.

On June 3, 2019, the Chairman for the Conference side of the PRA’s National Retail Conference and Exhibition (NRCE ’19), Golden ABC Inc.’s Bryan T. Liu (son of former PRA Pres. Bernie Liu) called for a meeting at his Head Office with the core organizers of the Conference: PAGASA’s STC, LVC-Asia, Inc.’s Bryan Joe M. Valencia and the Secretary- General of the Phil. Retailers Assn. Evelyn Balmeo-Salire and PRA Senior Project Officer Archelle Aira Villanueva. Golden ABC, Inc. runs the popular clothes chain Penshoppe, Oxygen, Forme, Memo, Regatta, Tyler and the direct selling outfit Red Logo.  

Day 2 of NRCE 2018 on 10 Aug. 2018 showed some creative speakers from Spain on retailing as well as Amazon’s take on retail of the future. Among PAGASA Officers/Members attending NRCE ’18 are Prince Retail Group’s Robert Go, Candice Megamart’s Edna Ontiveros, Velamart’s Myke Teodoro, San Roque Supermarket’s Dustin Uy and Country Gaisano’s Alexis Gaisano.

At the Supermarket Break-Out Session of NRCE 2018 on Day 1, PAGASA was the organizer for the Session with A.C. Nielsen’s Dir. Patrick Cua packing the crowds in. The other speakers were James Cruz for systems and Mr. Chi Lam of Bingo Box, Beijing for operations of the unmanned supermarkets. STC hosted said affair on the afternoon of 9 Aug. 2018.

The annual Retailers Conference at the SMX from 10-11 of August 2017 by the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) was filled with retailers of all sizes, shapes and colors. The Philippine Amalgamated Supermarkets Assn. (PAGASA) is the food retail segment of the PRA and has been an Associate Member of the PRA for the last twenty years. The Conference had among others Mr. Irwin Lee/CEO of the Rustan Supercenters, Inc. (gray coat; maroon tie) who spoke authoritatively on global retail trends, Ms. Erica Ng/ Senior Editor of WGSN Insight Asia Pacific (HK) in black, Swede Mr. Anders Barlund of Phil. Mackinsey & Co. On its 30 th year, PAGASA took care of the Breakout Session for Supermarkets on Day 1 from 3:00-5:00pm.  Guest Speakers were DTI Usec. Teodoro Pascua who spoke on the partnership between the public sector and retailers, Ms. Shirley Zhu of IGD based in Singapore on Asian Retail Trends and A.C. Nielsen’s Managing Director Patrick Cua on “Winning at Point of Sale.”...

At the end of a function by the PRA, STC was invited to stay and discuss the possibility of holding Break-Out Sessions during this year’s National Retailers Conference to be held at the SMX in August.  Initial discussions with PRA’s Sec.Gen. Evelyn Salire turned into a full table with PRA Chairman Lorenzo Formoso, PRA Pres. Atty. Paul Santos and their staff joining in discussions regarding this proposed tie-up as well as how to make this year’s NRCE more appealing and marketable to participants.

For 2012, the National Retail Conference & Exhibition (NRCE) was attended by six delegates from PAGASA. It was held at the SMX on 9-10 August. Robert Go of the Visayas region's Prince Warehouse Club chain of supermarkets went with eldest daughter Rhea and other manager-relatives.  Frances J. Yu of the Rustan Super Centers, Inc. gave a very inspiring, holistic and dynamic perspective of people-centered and service-oriented supermarket management.  To add spice to the presentations at the Conference, the topic of "Retailtainment" was tackled by the SM Group, the Ayala Group and Megaworld's "Lifestyle Malls" which gave the delegates a taste of Broadway's "The King and I" about to be performed at the theatre of Resorts World Manila.
