Nomura Research Institute’s AGM & Consultant>Ms. Makiko Takaoka
interviews PAGASA’s STC on the latest figures on retailing in the
country inside a supermarket to get a better feel of the project.
On the afternoon of 3 November 2015, the Pres. of the Phil. Confectionery, Biscuits and Snack Foods Assn. (PCBSA)> Mr. William Lim paid PAGASA’s Mr. Cua a visit at PAGASA office to discuss how the two organizations can make the most of its members’ affiliation with their respective associations. In a generous move on the part of Mr. Lim who is established in his business>W.L. Food Products, he took time out of his busy schedule to brainstorm with Mr. Cua on ways the members of their two groups can maximize their participation/ involvement in the two Industry Assns. A project is a-brewing in the months to come.
A vigilant shopper sent this video to a social media platform and it went viral. Her observation that the health-hazardous puncturing of minute holes on powdery products packaged in plastic bags (like sugar, salt and the like) to let air out and make displays in supermarkets even and easier for stocking is very valid in view of the uncontained spread of COVID-19. PAGASA members were advised to refrain from this practice.
On 6 March 2016, PAGASA Pres. Steven Cua is honored to be featured as guest resource person at the launch and initial episode of ShopTalk…UShop on Radyo Inquirer 990 AM. This Program is a joint venture between the radio station of the Phil. Inquirer Group and the Phil. Retailers Association. It features trends, issues and topics of interest to the Retail Industry. STC was invited to enlighten the public about Green Marketing in view of societal prevention from global warming, constant flooding and the damaging effects of natural calamities. STC defined Green Marketing and Green Retailing from the point of view of a retailer, a social marketing practitioner and an environmentalist. With STC posing (L-R) are hosts Rolly Pagaspas, Red Magno, PRA’s Atty. Paul Santos/Pres.-Picture City and the program’s Director Peter Alan Mariano.
